Hi friends and family, and welcome to our new blog!Here's the house we're in the process of buying. It's in SE Portland, one block off a very busy street. Isn't it cute? It has 1800 square feet, a 3/4 basement, and two shed dormers on the top. It also currently has a backyard full of holes and poop (the current tenants have a big dog) and a driveway full of trash.
The garage has a main room with a picture window (in case we want to see out when we're inside) and a small room behind that. It has two human-sized doors and one car door. I'm not sure why it has so many entryways, but perhaps we'll see fit to use them if we ever entertain (in the garage).
The hardwood floors could probably use a refinishing, but we're not sure if we have the time/motivation to do that before we move in. We are planning on painting the living room, dining room, kitchen, and downstairs bedroom, but at this point we'll only have a week to do that before we move in. There was some talk about us closing a week earlier, since the tenants are out tomorrow instead of the 12th of April, but with our realtor and mortgage banker both on vacation this week and the repairs yet to be done, it might not happen.Stay tuned for more information!
